Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about the West End Health service.
How fast can I be seen?
We do our best to offer same-day appointments regardless of when you call - but usually within one working day. Appointments can also be booked in advance at a time to suit you.
How long are appointments?
30-minutes as standard - time to talk, understand and plan next steps.
What's included in the Health Assessment?
An advanced whole body health assessment delivered across two GP appointments, with ~ 150+ blood and health markers, lifestyle review, physical exam and a comprehensive written report with results and a personalised plan.
What's included in the Dental Assessment?
A preventative consultation with a dental surgeon including digital intra-oral scan, radiographs where appropriate, gum health and tooth wear screening, risk assessment and recommendations for further investigations or treatment where appropriate.
Do you offer weight management services?
We’ll discuss evidence-based treatment options in consultation with your GP. Any prescription decisions are made only when clinically appropriate.
Do you offer menopause care?
Yes. We provide comprehensive menopause assessment and ongoing review. Your GP will discuss evidence-based treatment options and make prescriptions or referrals only when clinically appropriate.
Do you offer testosterone or male hormone checks?
Yes. We can assess symptoms and arrange blood tests to check testosterone and related hormones. Where appropriate, our GPs can discuss management options and monitoring plans in line with current UK guidance.
Can you manage my long-term condition?
We can support a range of conditions including hypertension, diabetes, asthma/COPD, thyroid and lipid disorders. We’ll agree a monitoring and medication plan, and (with your consent) we can share updates with your NHS GP.
Do you offer cancer screening?
We offer age and risk-appropriate checks (for example qFIT; PSA following shared decision-making) and physical examination. We only recommend tests with clear clinical value and can arrange private imaging or specialist referrals when indicated.
Are there any age restrictions?
We welcome all ages, subject to membership availability at the time you join. Please note: health and dental assessments are for adults; children enjoy unlimited GP access with a Family Membership.
I have existing health problems - will this affect registration?
No. You are welcome to join regardless of pre-existing conditions. Our GPs can help manage ongoing issues and help to coordinate care with the NHS or private specialists where appropriate.
Can you refer me through my health insurance?
Yes. Where clinically appropriate, we can provide referral letters and help arrange private specialist consultations and diagnostics. We can also suggest trusted providers locally and regionally.

Please check your insurance policy for authorisation requirements, excess amounts, and whether private GP referrals are accepted.
Do I need to leave my NHS GP?
No. We recommend you stay registered with your NHS GP practice so you maintain full access to NHS services such as prescriptions, referrals, investigations and treatments.

West End Health sits alongside the NHS. With your consent, we'll share relevant information with your NHS GP to support continuity of care.
Where are you based?
Colwyn Bay initially, with more sites to follow.
When are you open?
We are open 8.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday, and 9.00am to 1.00pm Saturday. We are closed on public holidays. As our membership grows, we will be reviewing extended hours carefully.
Do you do home visits?
Not at present.
How do you handle my records and privacy?
We work to strict confidentiality and consent standards. Health records remain with West End Health; dental records remain with West End Dental.

With your consent, we share relevant information to coordinate care.
What if I change my mind?
There's a 14 day cooling off period for membership deposits and membership payments.

This cooling off period will end immediately if you attend an appointment or benefit from any of our clinical services.
Can I pay monthly?
Initial memberships enjoy substantial introductory discounts in exchange for an annual payment up front. Monthly memberships at full price may be available in future.
Is there a minimum term?
Each membership runs for a period of 12 months.
Is this an emergency service?
No. For emergencies call 999 or visit your local A&E unit. We can support with follow-up and documentation after emergency episodes.
